Over 121,000 People Evacuated from Riverine Areas in Sindh Amid Rising Water Levels

Because of the increasing danger of floods at major barrages, more than 121,000 people have been safely moved from areas in Sindh that were most at risk. Authorities acted quickly to protect families and reduce possible damage.

Sindh’s Senior Minister, Sharjeel Inam Memon, said that relief work is going on day and night. Health camps have been set up to provide medical help, and rescue boats are available to reach people living in places cut off by floodwaters. Food and other basic needs are also being supplied to those affected.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned that Sindh is expected to receive widespread heavy rain and thunderstorms between September 7 and September 13. These downpours could cause both urban flooding in cities and river flooding in rural areas.

The provincial government has announced that it is fully alert and is keeping a close watch on the water levels at different rivers and barrages. The aim is to protect communities, save lives, and reduce damage to homes, crops, and property.
