President UMT Announces Major Relief Package for Flood-Affected Students – Tuition Fee Waived and Deferred

President of University of Management and Technology (UMT) and former Provincial Minister, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, has announced a significant relief initiative for students affected by the recent floods. Under this initiative, the tuition fees of flood-affected students will either be waived or deferred, ensuring that financial hardships do not disrupt their academic journey.

Highlighting UMT’s mission, Ibrahim Hasan Murad said that the university has always been committed to making education accessible and inclusive for all. He added that UMT’s diverse scholarship programs have turned the dreams of thousands of students into reality. Currently, 64% of UMT students are benefiting from more than 30 different scholarship programs, while over 47,000 students have been awarded substantial financial assistance to date.

President UMT further stated that the university places special emphasis on merit recognition and support for deserving students. Special scholarships have been allocated for minorities, students from Balochistan, refugees, children of martyrs and orphans, ensuring that every segment of society has access to quality education. At present, 76% of UMT students receive up to 50% scholarships, while 24% are granted 100% scholarships.

Former Minister emphasized that UMT is not only serving Pakistan but also reaching out globally. Students from 110 districts of Pakistan and 18 different countries are currently benefiting from UMT’s scholarship programs. He reaffirmed UMT’s vision of empowering youth and preparing future leaders who will play a vital role in shaping a better tomorrow.
