The government has rolled out the latest phase of the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme 2025 under the PM Youth Programme. The initiative is designed to give students better access to technology and reduce the digital gap in Pakistan.
In this phase, the scheme has been expanded to include students from technical and vocational institutes for the very first time. Officials said the new round will be more transparent and accessible with an upgraded online portal offering quicker processing, real-time updates and public merit lists.
Who can apply?
To qualify, students must:
- Be enrolled in an HEC-recognized public university, college, or technical institute
- Hold a valid CNIC or B-Form
- Maintain good academic performance
Students who already received a laptop in past phases will not be eligible.
Application process and distribution
Applications will go through four stages: Submitted, Under Review, Approved and Rejected. Students can log in with their CNIC to track progress. Laptops will be distributed between September and December 2025 and successful applicants will be informed via SMS and email.
Officials have advised students to check their documents carefully and stay in touch with their institute’s focal person to avoid mistakes.
The government hopes this scheme will not only support students in their studies but also prepare them with digital skills for future careers.
