Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry has commended the outstanding performance of Chinese-made weapons used during Pakistan’s recent military engagements in May.
Speaking to Bloomberg, he highlighted how these advanced systems demonstrated remarkable accuracy, reliability, and operational strength in the field.
Lt Gen Sharif noted that Pakistan’s defense priorities are centered on modernization, technological advancement, and strategic balance, not on fueling regional arms races. He emphasized that the country’s focus remains on ensuring national security through efficient and well-integrated defense capabilities rather than competing in weapons.
The ISPR chief further stated that Pakistan is steadily moving toward self-reliance in defense production by investing in indigenous innovation and strengthening partnerships with trusted allies like China.
He continued by saying that these partnerships are essential to improving Pakistan’s technological skills and guaranteeing availability for modern situations of war.
This statement is seen by analysts as an indication of increased strategic and military cooperation between China and Pakistan, especially in the areas of joint production projects and defense technology transfer.
With regional tensions still high, Pakistan’s emphasis on modern, efficient weapon systems reflects its broader aim to maintain stability and readiness through precision and innovation.
Lt Gen Sharif concluded that Pakistan’s defense modernization efforts are guided by long term goals of sustainability and strategic independence, ensuring the armed forces remain equipped for future challenges.
