Women in Karachi have received encouraging news as the Sindh government has announced a new route for the women-only Pink Bus Service. This special bus service, created to offer safe and comfortable transportation for women, will now cover a fresh route to help more passengers travel easily during busy hours.
The new route is set to begin on November 17, 2025. It will run between Abdullah Chowk and Numaish, two areas where women often face difficulties finding reliable and secure transport.
The service has been scheduled to operate only during peak hours, making it more useful for working women, students, and those who travel regularly throughout the day.
Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon shared that the Pink Bus will run three times a day. The timings have been carefully selected based on public demand: from 8am to 9am for morning travel, from 1pm to 2pm for afternoon movement, and from 5pm to 7pm for evening commutes.
These hours are usually the busiest, and the government aims to make travel safer and less stressful for women during these times.
The buses are equipped with modern security features to ensure a protected environment. Each bus includes GPS tracking, surveillance systems, and trained staff members who are responsible for assisting passengers and maintaining safety throughout the journey. These measures aim to encourage more women to use public transport confidently.
Officials hope that the expansion of the Pink Bus Service will reduce transportation challenges for women and promote a safer travel culture in Karachi. The new route is expected to benefit thousands of daily commuters and further strengthen women-only travel options in the city.
