The federal government has announced a temporary increase in petroleum prices for one day, raising the price of petrol by Rs. 4.93 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs. 7.15 per litre.
The revised rates have taken effect immediately as part of the government’s fuel pricing mechanism, which adjusts prices in response to changes in international oil markets.
Following the latest revision, petrol is now priced at Rs. 320.73 per litre, while high-speed diesel is available at Rs. 367.21 per litre for today.
The adjustment reflects fluctuations in global crude oil prices, exchange rate movements, and other factors that influence the cost of importing petroleum products into Pakistan.
Government officials said the one-day price revision is intended to align domestic fuel prices with prevailing international market conditions while ensuring a stable supply of petroleum products across the country.
The move is also aimed at maintaining the financial sustainability of the petroleum sector amid ongoing volatility in global energy markets.
The increase is expected to affect transportation costs and fuel expenses for consumers and businesses, as diesel plays a vital role in the agriculture, logistics, and industrial sectors.
Market observers will be closely watching future fuel price announcements to assess whether the latest adjustment signals further changes in the coming days.
