Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has said that every day around 50 to 70 passengers are being taken off flights to protect the country’s passport reputation.
This step is being taken at a time when many travelers have complained that they are being offloaded at airports even when they have all the required documents. The issue has become more visible as the government is running a major crackdown against illegal immigration, fake passports, and forged travel papers.
During a surprise visit to Islamabad Airport, Mohsin Naqvi made it clear that no traveler who has complete and valid documents should be stopped from flying. He instructed airport staff to make sure that genuine passengers are not disturbed or treated unfairly.
He also ordered strict action against dishonest visa agents who trick people with false promises and sell fake or unverified documents. According to Naqvi, using such documents not only harms individuals but also damages Pakistan’s image in other countries.
