The University of Southern Denmark (SDU) has announced the Danish Government Scholarship 2026, offering a valuable opportunity for high-achieving international students to pursue fully English-taught Master’s degree programmes in Denmark.
The announcement, shared by education and career advocate Yisiak Seba Wakalito, highlights Denmark’s continued commitment to attracting global talent by supporting advanced education across priority academic disciplines. The scholarship is aimed exclusively at non-EU/EEA students who demonstrate strong academic performance and a clear motivation to contribute to their chosen fields of study.
Wide Range of Academic Disciplines
The scholarship applies to a broad selection of Master’s programmes offered at SDU, including Engineering, Technology, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Natural and Applied Sciences, Environmental and Climate Engineering, Health and Life Sciences, as well as selected programmes in Business, Economics, and Social Sciences.
All eligible programmes are taught entirely in English, making them accessible to international students from diverse academic and cultural backgrounds.
Financial Support and Benefits
Under the Danish Government Scholarship 2026, selected students will receive partial or full tuition fee waivers, significantly reducing the cost of studying in Denmark. In addition, recipients may be granted a monthly living allowance, typically ranging between DKK 3,000 and 3,500, to help cover essential living expenses during their studies.
Students are also permitted to work part-time for up to 20 hours per week, providing them with opportunities to gain practical experience while supporting themselves financially.
Eligibility Criteria
The scholarship is strictly available for Master’s level studies and does not apply to Bachelor’s degree programmes. Applicants must hold a relevant undergraduate qualification and meet the academic requirements of their selected Master’s programme at SDU. Final scholarship awards are based on academic merit and overall application strength.
Career and Research Opportunities
Beyond financial assistance, scholarship recipients gain access to SDU’s modern research facilities, innovation ecosystems, and interdisciplinary academic networks. Graduates benefit from Denmark’s progressive education system and may be eligible for post-study work opportunities, allowing them to gain professional experience in Denmark after completing their degree.
