Students Panic! Leopard Roams Inside Islamabad’s International Islamic University

A sudden sighting of a leopard at the International Islamic University in Islamabad caused fear and confusion among students and staff on campus. The wild animal was seen moving close to academic buildings, which immediately raised safety concerns and led to emergency measures.

Eyewitnesses said the leopard appeared unexpectedly, prompting university authorities to issue alerts and ask people to leave the area.

Many students were quickly evacuated from nearby buildings as a precaution. University security teams acted swiftly and contacted wildlife officials for assistance.

Soon after, officials from the wildlife department arrived on campus and worked alongside security staff to control the situation.

The affected area was sealed off to prevent any further risk, and classes were temporarily halted to ensure everyone’s safety. Students and staff were advised to stay indoors, avoid open spaces, and follow instructions from authorities.

Efforts were made to locate, capture, and safely relocate the leopard without harming the animal. Officials emphasized that trained teams were handling the situation carefully to protect both people and wildlife. Thankfully, no injuries or damage were reported during the incident.

Authorities later said such incidents, though rare, can happen as urban areas expand closer to natural habitats. They urged the public to remain calm in similar situations and to immediately inform authorities if wildlife is spotted.

The university administration assured students and parents that safety remains the top priority and that normal academic activities would resume once the campus was declared secure. The incident served as a reminder of the need for better coordination between urban planning and wildlife protection.
