Islamabad International Airport to Launch Its First Electric Vehicle (EV) Charging Station

Islamabad International Airport is set to get a major upgrade with the addition of its first EV charging station.

This initiative will be part of a new multi-purpose fuel and service facility planned within the airport premises, aiming to modernize services and cater to the growing number of electric vehicles in Pakistan.

According to an auction notice issued by the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA), lease rights are being offered to establish and operate a petrol station alongside an EV charging facility.

The project will also include related service amenities to provide a complete customer experience for travelers and vehicle owners.

The designated site, Plot No. F-180 C, covers 4,532 square yards and is planned to host a fully equipped service complex.

The facility will include a tuck shop, a lube shop, a tyre shop, and a restaurant, making it a one-stop location for fuel, vehicle maintenance, and refreshment needs. Officials expect that the addition of an EV charging station will encourage more electric vehicle usage and support sustainable transportation initiatives.

This development reflects Islamabad Airport’s commitment to modernizing infrastructure and providing advanced services for passengers and businesses.

By combining conventional fuel, EV charging, and ancillary services, the project aims to meet the evolving needs of travelers while promoting environmental sustainability.

The PAA plans to finalize lease agreements soon, paving the way for the construction of the facility. Once completed, it will serve as the airport’s first step toward integrating green energy solutions while maintaining convenience and quality services for all visitors.
