Punjab Opens Laptop Applications for Private University Students, Here’re the Details

The Punjab government has expanded its laptop distribution program to now include students from private universities. This move aims to make digital tools more accessible to a wider group of learners across the province and support their academic success.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz announced the launch of the application process, saying that education should be available to everyone and not just a select few. The laptop scheme will now benefit students from both public and private higher education institutions.

Under the updated program, private university students who have achieved 65 percent or more marks are eligible to apply for a free laptop. Officials hope this expansion will help students with online research, virtual classes, project work, and skill development.

Applications are now open, and eligible students can submit their information online through the official portal.

The government expects a large number of applications and has encouraged students to complete their registrations early. The process is designed to be transparent and merit-based.

Education experts have welcomed the decision, saying it will help reduce the digital divide and enable students to compete in a technology-driven world. The Punjab administration continues to focus on empowering youth and strengthening educational resources across the province.
