Shibli Faraz, The Minister for Science and Technology, addressing a media briefing at Parliament House, where the government held the demonstration of EVMs for lawmakers, the minister assured ” the machines cannot be entered by bugs or hacked” because the EVMs won’t be connected to the internet, there will be no operating system, Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection. He said it is the best solution as the chances of hacking or being bugged are zero.
He said that during and after the election, EVM would be the solution to problems like rigging. He added, due to EVM, there will be transparency, trust and immediate results.
The minister asked the lawmakers to come and test the machine themselves on display for their satisfaction.
