Australia is considering offering military support to some Middle Eastern countries that have been affected by recent strikes linked to Iran. However, the Australian government has made it clear that it does not plan to send its troops to the region.
According to Penny Wong, Australia may provide defensive assistance to help countries protect themselves from possible missile and drone attacks.
She explained that the support being discussed is focused on strengthening defense systems rather than taking part in military operations.

At the same time, the Australian government is also focusing on the safety of its citizens who were in the region during the crisis. Officials reported that more than 1,500 Australians have already returned home from Middle Eastern countries in recent days.
Despite these returns, a large number of Australians are still overseas. Government estimates suggest that around 115,000 Australian citizens remain in different parts of the Middle East. Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation closely and are providing guidance and support to citizens who wish to return home.
Australian officials say their main priority is protecting their people and supporting regional stability. Any assistance provided will be carefully planned to ensure it focuses on defense and humanitarian needs rather than direct military involvement in the conflict.
