Thousands of worshippers have begun Itikaf at Al-Masjid an-Nabawi as the final ten nights of Ramadan begin. The period is considered one of the most spiritually important times of the month, when Muslims increase prayers, recitation of the Quran, and personal reflection.
Itikaf is a special form of worship in which believers stay inside the mosque for several days, focusing on prayer and devotion. During this time, participants limit worldly activities and dedicate themselves to worship until the end of Ramadan.
Authorities in Madinah have made extensive arrangements to manage the large number of visitors arriving for the final nights. Officials deployed more than 18,000 personnel and about 6,000 vehicles to help manage crowds, provide security, and assist worshippers.
Special teams are also working to maintain cleanliness, guide visitors, and ensure smooth entry and exit from the mosque.
Facilities have been prepared to provide worshippers with basic services during their stay, including designated spaces, guidance services, and health support.
Security and service teams are monitoring the area around the mosque around the clock to ensure safety and organization.
The last ten nights of Ramadan are highly valued in Islam because many Muslims believe that Laylat al-Qadr, the Night of Power, occurs during this period.
