JazzWorld CEO Aamir Ibrahim has shared the first results from Pakistan’s 5G network trials after the recent spectrum auction.
The trials, conducted in Islamabad’s F-7 sector, recorded download speeds of 1400 Mbps. This is a significant jump from current 4G speeds and shows the potential of next-generation mobile technology in the country.
The new spectrum, mostly acquired by Jazz, is expected to increase network capacity and support the launch of 5G services alongside improved 4G coverage. With faster speeds, lower latency, and more stable connections, 5G can enable high-definition streaming, cloud gaming, virtual meetings, and other real-time digital applications.
Although Jazz has not announced a commercial launch date, these trials are an important step toward the rollout of 5G services. The tests also indicate that Pakistan’s telecom sector is actively preparing for the transition and investing in infrastructure to support modern mobile connectivity.
The early adoption of 5G could give telecom operators a competitive edge and create new opportunities for businesses that rely on fast, reliable internet.
For consumers, 5G could mean smoother video calls, faster downloads, and better performance for online applications.
