PMD Predicts More Heavy Rain Before Eid ul Fitr

Heavy rain and strong winds recently hit Islamabad and Rawalpindi, bringing cooler weather to the region. The rainfall caused water to collect in several low lying areas, while many roads became slippery, creating difficulties for drivers and pedestrians.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, more rain is expected in different parts of the country before Eid al-Fitr. Weather experts say a stronger weather system will enter the northern areas from March 18 to March 20.

The department has warned that scattered rain showers and thunderstorms may occur in parts of Punjab, especially the Potohar Plateau region. Similar weather conditions are also expected in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Azad Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.

Officials said some areas could also experience hailstorms and strong wind gusts during the weather system. These conditions may cause temporary disruptions in daily life, including traffic problems and minor damage to weak structures.

Authorities have advised people to remain careful while traveling during rain and storms. Drivers should slow down on wet roads, and residents in vulnerable areas should take necessary safety measures.

The recent rain has also brought relief from rising temperatures, making the weather cooler and more pleasant in many northern cities before the upcoming Eid holidays.
