Pakistan Successfully Tests Fateh-2 Missile System

Pakistan successfully tested its Fateh-II missile system on Tuesday. The Army Rocket Force Command carried out the training launch of this home-grown weapon. The test aimed to train troops, check technical systems, and improve the missile’s accuracy and survival in battle.

The Fateh-II is a guided multiple launch rocket system (GMLRS) developed entirely in Pakistan. It can hit targets up to 400 kilometers (about 250 miles) away with high precision. Unlike the earlier Fateh-I, which has a range of around 140-150 km, the Fateh-II offers much longer reach and better accuracy.

It uses advanced avionics, a modern navigation system that combines inertial and satellite guidance, and a special flight path. These features help the rocket maneuver, avoid enemy defenses, and strike very close to its target.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the missile can engage deep targets with pinpoint accuracy. It carries a warhead of about 365 kg and is designed to defeat modern missile defense systems. The system runs on a wheeled launcher and is meant to strengthen Pakistan’s conventional artillery power without relying on nuclear options for every strike.

Senior officers from the Strategic Plans Division, Army Rocket Force, and scientists from strategic organizations watched the test. They praised the performance of all subsystems. Pakistan’s President, Prime Minister, Chief of Defence Forces, and Services Chiefs congratulated the troops, engineers, and scientists for their hard work and technical skills.

This successful test shows Pakistan’s growing ability to build advanced weapons at home. The Fateh-II improves the Army’s capacity for precise, long-range strikes and adds to the country’s defense strength. It is now being added to artillery units for better readiness.
