Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Nawaz Sharif has said he will ask Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to provide a helicopter to the government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK). He made the statement while discussing development plans for the region.
Nawaz said the helicopter is needed because much of AJK is mountainous, making travel difficult in several areas. He linked the proposal to improving government work and access to remote parts of the region. He also stressed that the newly elected PML-N lawmakers must work to meet public expectations and speed up development in AJK.
The PML-N is currently working on forming the government in AJK after the recent elections. Nawaz has been given the final authority to choose the party’s Leader of the House. He has also called for better roads, hospitals, jobs, tourism and development projects in the region.
