The Islamabad Police has received 30 new vehicles after a gap of 14 years, with all 27 police stations in the capital set to benefit from improved transport facilities.
The addition of the new vehicles is aimed at strengthening police mobility, improving response times and providing personnel with better resources to deal with emergencies and routine law-enforcement duties.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry formally handed over the vehicle keys during a ceremony held at Police Lines. Officials said the new fleet includes electric vehicles, which are expected to support efforts to modernise policing while potentially reducing fuel consumption and operating costs.
The upgraded transport is also intended to help police teams respond more efficiently to public safety concerns across different areas of Islamabad.
The vehicle upgrade is part of a broader effort to improve policing infrastructure in the federal capital. Work is also underway to renovate and upgrade all 27 police stations, while the government is recruiting around 9,000 new personnel to address staffing shortages.
The combined measures are expected to strengthen operational capacity, improve service delivery and enhance the overall performance of the Islamabad Police.
The latest developments reflect an effort to provide law-enforcement personnel with improved facilities, modern equipment and additional manpower.
