His Highness the Agha Khan to Make Historic First Official Visit in Pakistan in May

His Highness Prince Rahim Aga Khan, the 50th Imam of the Shia Ismaili Muslim community, will make his first official visit to Pakistan from May 20 to 26, 2026. The six-day trip is at the invitation of the Government of Pakistan.

During the visit, Prince Rahim Aga Khan is expected to hold important meetings with senior Pakistani officials in Islamabad. These meetings will focus on cooperation, development, and shared interests between Pakistan and the Ismaili Imamat.

He will also travel to Gilgit-Baltistan and Chitral to meet his followers, known as the Jamat. Local communities in these areas have been preparing excitedly for months.

The Imam is also likely to review the ongoing projects of the Aga Khan Development Network (AKDN) in the northern regions. AKDN has long supported education, health, and rural development in these remote areas.

This visit holds special importance as it is the first time Prince Rahim Aga Khan is coming to Pakistan as the 50th hereditary Imam. It strengthens the deep and historic ties between the Ismaili community and Pakistan.

The announcement was made through a Talika Mubarak (message) to Jamatkhanas worldwide.
