Rawalpindi’s Additional Deputy Commissioner Files Domestic Violence Case Against Husband

Rawalpindi Additional Deputy Commissioner Headquarters Maliha Sahar has filed a case against her husband, Jawad Ali, accusing him of physical, psychological and emotional abuse over several months.

The case was registered at the Rawalpindi Women Police Station under Sections 342 and 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which relate to wrongful confinement and criminal intimidation.

According to the complaint, the situation worsened on October 2 when Ali allegedly assaulted Sahar, took her mobile phone and locked her inside a room. She alleged that she was prevented from contacting her family, meeting her children or seeking help from police.

Sahar also alleged that her husband repeatedly threatened to kill her and harm their two minor children. She told police that the incidents were part of an ongoing pattern of abuse and controlling behaviour.

She has requested police protection, legal action, a medical examination and preservation of evidence related to the alleged assault. Police are investigating the allegations.

Reports said Ali was arrested following the complaint and later produced before a court, which sent him to jail on 14-day judicial remand.

The allegations against Ali have not been proven in court, and the investigation is ongoing.
