US Supports $2.4 Billion Plan to Upgrade Pakistan Airport Security

The administration of Donald Trump has backed a $2.4 billion proposal by a US company to improve security systems at major airports in Pakistan.

The plan has been presented by Securiport and focuses on installing modern systems such as Advanced Passenger Information (API) and Passenger Name Record (PNR).

These systems are used to collect and analyze passenger data in order to identify potential security risks, including criminal and cross-border threats.

According to officials, the US Chargé d’Affaires has encouraged Pakistan to review and consider the proposal. The company has assured that Pakistan will have full ownership of all collected data. It has also offered training for local staff and long-term technical support to ensure smooth operations.

The system is expected to be managed by the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Once implemented, it could improve border control, speed up passenger processing, and strengthen overall airport security.

However, some concerns have been raised regarding transparency in the procurement process. Experts have pointed out the need to ensure that all legal and regulatory requirements are properly followed before moving forward with such a large project.

There are also discussions about how the system will be integrated into existing airport infrastructure and whether it will meet long-term national security needs.
