NAB Seizes Four Bahria Town Properties in Karachi, Including Bahria Icon Tower

The National Accountability Bureau in Karachi has frozen four more high-value properties linked to Bahria Town following orders issued by an accountability court.

According to officials, the action was taken under the Anti-Money Laundering Act after investigations suggested that the properties were allegedly purchased using money obtained through illegal activities.

Authorities stated that the assets were reportedly acquired through front companies and benami arrangements, which are commonly used to hide the actual ownership of properties and financial transactions.

Among the properties attached by NAB are the well-known Bahria Icon Tower located in Clifton and Bahria Town Tower. Officials also confirmed that large land holdings in Sheikhupura and Peshawar were included in the latest action.

Authorities said the move is part of ongoing efforts to investigate alleged money laundering and financial irregularities. NAB officials added that the purpose of freezing the properties is to prevent the transfer or sale of assets during the legal process and ensure accountability for assets suspected to have been obtained unlawfully.

The bureau stated that investigations are continuing and more developments could follow depending on the findings of the inquiry. Officials emphasized that the action was carried out under legal procedures and court orders.

The case has drawn public attention because of the high value and visibility of the properties involved. Financial crime investigations related to real estate and benami transactions have remained a major focus for accountability authorities in recent years.
