Pakistan Wants Direct Flights to US to Begin Soon

Pakistan is working to start direct flights to the United States soon as both countries continue to improve their diplomatic and economic relations. The move is seen as an important step to strengthen travel, trade, and people-to-people contact between the two nations.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi shared this update during a meeting with senior US officials in Islamabad. He said that Pakistan and the United States have a long-standing relationship based on trust, cooperation, and shared interests. Both sides discussed ways to further improve ties in different areas.

The meeting also focused on regional peace and stability, including recent developments in the Middle East. Security arrangements for US companies working on the Reko Diq mining project in Balochistan were also reviewed. This project is considered important for foreign investment in Pakistan’s mineral sector.

Officials believe that direct flights between Pakistan and the United States would make travel easier for students, business people, and overseas Pakistanis. It would also help reduce travel time and improve connectivity.

The development comes shortly after Pakistan International Airlines resumed direct flights to London after a six-year gap. This has raised expectations that more international routes may reopen in the near future.
