Saad Edhi Reportedly Detained by Isr@eli Forces During Global Sumud Flotilla Mission

Saad Edhi, along with more than 500 international activists participating in the Global Sumud Flotilla, departed from Marmaris, Türkiye, with the aim of delivering humanitarian aid to Gaza.

The mission was supported by the Edhi Foundation and included activists from different countries advocating for increased humanitarian access to Palestinians.

The flotilla was organized to transport aid and raise awareness about conditions in Gaza amid ongoing regional tensions. Participants hoped to reach those in need and draw global attention to humanitarian concerns in the area.

However, reports state that the mission was interrupted after Israeli forces stopped the vessels in international waters. Several participants, including Saad Edhi, were reportedly detained during the operation. Before being detained, Saad Edhi released an emergency video message as the flotilla was said to be facing interception.

The incident has attracted international attention and sparked renewed debate regarding restrictions on humanitarian access to Gaza.

Supporters of the mission argue that humanitarian assistance should be allowed to reach affected populations without obstruction, while the situation continues to raise legal and political questions internationally.

The Global Sumud Flotilla was part of broader efforts by activists to challenge restrictions and highlight humanitarian issues through peaceful action. The detention of participants has led to increased discussion among rights groups, humanitarian organizations, and political observers worldwide.

The Edhi Foundation, known for its humanitarian work, has been associated with relief efforts and social welfare activities over many years. The involvement of Saad Edhi brought additional public attention to the mission.

Officials and international observers are closely monitoring developments, while concerns remain regarding the safety of detained participants and the future of humanitarian missions directed toward Gaza.
