Legacy of Over Three Decades! Toyota Marks 35 Years of Manufacturing in Pakistan

Toyota has completed 35 years of manufacturing operations in Pakistan, marking a major milestone in the country’s automobile industry. Since starting local production in the early 1990s through Indus Motor Company, the company has played a key role in developing Pakistan’s automotive sector by introducing locally assembled vehicles, expanding dealership networks, and creating thousands of direct and indirect jobs. Over the decades, Toyota vehicles such as the Corolla, Hilux, and Fortuner have gained strong popularity among Pakistani consumers for their reliability and resale value.

The company stated that its three-and-a-half-decade journey reflects continued investment in local manufacturing, technology transfer, and workforce development in Pakistan. Industry experts say Toyota’s presence has also supported the growth of local auto parts vendors and contributed significantly to the national economy through taxes, exports, and industrial activity. The milestone comes at a time when Pakistan’s auto sector is focusing on modernization, hybrid technology, and increased localization to strengthen the country’s manufacturing capabilities.
