President Asif Ali Zardari warmly received Prince Rahim Aga Khan V at Nur Khan Airbase during the latter’s official visit to Pakistan. The visit marked Prince Rahim Aga Khan V’s first trip to the country since assuming leadership of the Ismaili community following the passing of Prince Karim Aga Khan IV in February 2025. Senior government officials and dignitaries were also present to welcome the visiting leader upon his arrival.
During the visit, Prince Rahim Aga Khan V was presented with a tri-services guard of honour at Aiwan-e-Sadr, reflecting the significance Pakistan attached to the occasion. He later held detailed meetings with President Asif Ali Zardari and other senior officials, where discussions focused on further strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and the Aga Khan Development Network. Key areas of discussion included healthcare, education, climate resilience, social welfare, and sustainable development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of communities across the country.
A state banquet was also hosted in honour of Prince Rahim Aga Khan V, attended by prominent political leaders, military officials, diplomats, parliamentarians, and members of civil society. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to expanding long-term collaboration and acknowledged the Aga Khan Development Network’s continued contributions to Pakistan’s development sector through various welfare and infrastructure projects.
