Kazakhstan has expressed strong interest in expanding investment opportunities in Pakistan’s maritime sector following a high-level meeting held in Islamabad. Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Muhammad Junaid Anwar Chaudhry encouraged Kazakh investors to explore joint ventures in Pakistan’s ports and maritime infrastructure, particularly in Gwadar’s free zones, which are being promoted as strategic gateways for regional and international trade. The discussions focused on strengthening connectivity, boosting trade routes, and enhancing economic cooperation between the two countries.
The invitation came during talks with an 11-member Kazakh delegation led by Freedom Holding Corp CEO Timur Turlov. Members of the delegation showed confidence in Pakistan’s evolving maritime policies and highlighted the country’s growing investment potential. Both sides viewed the engagement as a positive step toward deeper economic collaboration, with plans to explore new business opportunities that could improve trade access between Central Asia and global markets through Pakistan’s ports.
