More Than 1.5 Million Pilgrims Reach Saudi Arabia for Hajj: Officials

Saudi Arabia has warned people against using the Hajj season for unauthorized or illegal activities as preparations continue for Hajj 1447H.

Officials confirmed that more than 1.5 million foreign pilgrims have already arrived in the country to perform Hajj, one of the largest religious gatherings in the world.

Authorities said strict security measures are being implemented to maintain safety and manage large crowds during the pilgrimage period.

Security officials reported that more than 217 fake Hajj campaigns were identified and shut down as part of efforts to stop fraud and unauthorized activities linked to the pilgrimage.

Thousands of people who attempted to enter Makkah without valid permits were either stopped or deported. According to officials, around 366,000 unauthorized individuals were prevented from entering restricted areas.

Authorities emphasized that official permits remain necessary for performing Hajj and warned that violations of regulations could result in legal action.

Advanced technology, surveillance systems, and large-scale security deployment are being used to improve crowd control, monitor movement, and ensure public safety throughout the pilgrimage.

Officials stated that the main goal is to help pilgrims complete their religious rituals peacefully, safely, and without disruption.

Managing millions of visitors each year requires extensive planning, transport arrangements, and emergency response systems.

Saudi authorities say stronger monitoring measures are intended to reduce overcrowding risks and prevent incidents during one of the busiest periods in the country.

The government continues to encourage pilgrims to follow official guidelines and use authorized channels for travel and Hajj arrangements.
