A woman from Rawalpindi has made history by becoming the first female to receive a Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV) driving licence from the City Traffic Police Rawalpindi. Humaira Naseer successfully passed the full commercial driving test, including a tough dumper driving assessment at the Old Varan Depot on Peshawar Road.
According to traffic police officer, Muhammad Kaleem, Humaira completed the entire process purely on merit. She cleared all technical and legal requirements without any special favour. This achievement is being celebrated as a big step for women’s empowerment in Pakistan’s male-dominated transport sector.
After receiving her licence, Humaira Naseer praised the transparent system of the Rawalpindi traffic police. She encouraged other women to learn proper traffic rules and get driving licences. Humaira says, “Safe driving is not only a responsibility but also a source of self-reliance and empowerment”.
Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi called Humaira a role model for women. Traffic officer Muhammad Kaleem also appreciated her courage and determination, saying women can now stand shoulder to shoulder with men in every field.
This milestone is expected to inspire many young women in Punjab to explore careers in heavy vehicle driving and commercial transport. It shows that with courage and hard work, women can break traditional barriers and achieve new goals in Pakistan.
