Professor Shehbaz Sharif! Chinese University Awards Honorary Professorship to PM Shehbaz

Shehbaz Sharif was awarded an honorary professorship during a workshop on Pakistan-China agricultural cooperation held in Beijing, receiving the title of “Professor Shehbaz Sharif.”

The honorary distinction was given by Professor Huang Shanwen at the Academy of Agricultural Sciences, an institution known internationally for research, innovation and contributions to agricultural development. The academy was established in 1957 and is considered one of China’s leading centres for agricultural studies.

The recognition was presented during discussions focused on strengthening cooperation between Pakistan and China in agriculture and related sectors. The event highlighted opportunities for collaboration in research, technology and knowledge sharing.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif described the award as a moment of pride not only for himself but also for Pakistan. He said the recognition reflected the strong relationship between Pakistan and China in academic, strategic and development fields.

During the workshop, the prime minister emphasized the importance of increasing cooperation in agriculture to improve productivity, modern farming methods and research capabilities. He also discussed the need for training programmes and educational opportunities for young people to help develop future expertise.

Officials believe closer collaboration between the two countries in agricultural research and innovation could support food security and economic growth.

The visit also reflected broader Pakistan-China ties that continue to expand beyond trade and infrastructure into education, science and technology sectors.

The honorary title marks another example of academic engagement between the two countries as both sides explore new areas for cooperation and long-term partnership in development-related fields.
