A forest fire in Kotli Sattian has been brought under control after a large joint operation involving several government departments and emergency teams.
According to officials, the fire broke out in the Guzara forest area and quickly spread due to dry weather and extreme heatwave conditions. The situation became more serious as strong heat and dry vegetation helped the flames spread rapidly across the forest.
Rescue teams, along with the Forest Department, Rescue 1122, Fire Brigade, Police, Para Force, and district administration, worked together to control the blaze. After coordinated efforts, the fire was successfully extinguished.
Initial reports suggest that the fire may have started due to human negligence. Authorities believe it could be linked to an Eid barbecue gathering in the area, although investigations are still ongoing to confirm the exact cause.
Officials said that around 35 acres of forest land were affected by the fire. The teams acted quickly to stop further damage and protect nearby areas from being affected.
Even after controlling the fire, cooling operations are still continuing in the affected region. Teams are also monitoring the area closely to make sure there are no remaining hotspots that could cause the fire to restart.
Authorities have urged the public to be more careful, especially during dry and hot weather conditions, as small negligence can lead to large-scale environmental damage.
They also stressed the importance of protecting forest areas, which play a key role in maintaining the local ecosystem.
The successful operation has been credited to the quick response and coordination of all involved departments, which helped prevent a more serious disaster.
