Pakistan has once again achieved a major academic milestone by securing the highest number of selections in the Erasmus Mundus scholarship program for the fifth year in a row.
According to the 2026 results, 98 Pakistani students have been awarded scholarships under the European Union-supported Erasmus+ program. The fully funded scholarship allows students to pursue higher education at leading universities across Europe and gain international academic experience.
This year, a total of 1,872 scholarships were awarded to students from 135 countries. Pakistan ranked first globally with 98 successful candidates, maintaining its leading position for the fifth consecutive year.
Other countries that performed strongly included Bangladesh with 80 scholarship recipients, India with 75, United States with 68, and Italy with 67 recipients.
Education experts say this achievement highlights the academic talent, dedication and competitiveness of Pakistani students on the global stage. The consistent success of Pakistani applicants demonstrates their ability to compete with students from around the world in highly selective international programs.
