At least 63 people were injured after an Iranian missile and drone attack struck Kuwait International Airport on June 3, according to Kuwait’s Health Ministry. The attack caused significant damage to the airport’s main passenger terminal and disrupted flight operations across the country.
Kuwaiti authorities said emergency response teams rushed to the scene immediately after the strike. Dozens of ambulances transported injured passengers, airport workers, and other civilians to nearby hospitals. Health officials reported that several victims suffered serious injuries, including head trauma, internal bleeding, and blast-related wounds. Some patients required emergency surgery.
The attack also damaged Terminal 1 of Kuwait International Airport, forcing authorities to suspend and divert flights while emergency plans were activated. Airport operations were partially restored later after safety assessments were carried out.
Kuwait’s Foreign Ministry strongly condemned the attack and stated that one person was killed during the incident. Officials described the strike as a violation of international law and reserved the right to take appropriate measures in response.
The incident marks a major escalation in regional tensions and has raised fresh concerns about the security of civilian infrastructure and air travel in the Gulf region.
