ALI ZAFAR’S “ROSHNI TOUR” CROSSES 75,000 ATTENDEES ACROSS SEVEN NORTH AMERICAN CITIES

Pakistani music icon Ali Zafar’s Roshni Tour has now crossed 75,000 total attendees across seven cities in the United States and Canada, marking one of the most significant North American touring runs of his career.

The tour has taken Zafar through seven North American cities: Mississauga, Calgary, San Jose, Los Angeles, Toronto, Houston and Sacramento, connecting him with Pakistani and wider South Asian communities across the United States and Canada.

The milestone comes after a series of major individual audience achievements across the tour, including a 45,000-person audience in Greater Toronto and a separate 20,000+ gathering at Cal Expo in Sacramento.

The latest stretch of the tour saw Zafar perform to 4,500 people at Houston’s Arena Theatre on August 14, as part of Pakistan Independence Day celebrations. During his Houston visit, Zafar was also honoured as a Cultural Ambassador in Houston, recognising his contribution to Pakistani music and culture.

The following day, on August 15, Zafar performed before more than 20,000 people in Sacramento, adding another major audience milestone to the tour. The performance was part of the Pakistani Independence Day & Family Festival at Cal Expo.

The 75,000+ figure represents the cumulative attendance across the seven-city North American tour, while the 45,000-person Greater Toronto performance and 20,000+ Sacramento performance stand as separate individual audience milestones.

The scale of the tour reflects the continued growth of Pakistani music internationally and the ability of artists from the region to attract large, multigenerational audiences outside Pakistan.

At the centre of the tour is Zafar’s latest album, Roshni. Meaning “light” in Urdu, the album represents a new chapter in the artist’s musical evolution while continuing to build on a catalogue that has connected with audiences for more than two decades.

Throughout the tour, audiences have included longtime fans who have followed Zafar’s career since his earliest releases alongside younger listeners discovering his music through Roshni and his current international work.

Reflecting on the response, Ali Zafar said:

“I cannot thank the audience enough. From Mississauga to Calgary, San Jose to Los Angeles, Toronto, Houston and Sacramento, what I saw from the stage every night was not just a crowd. It was families, generations, people who have carried these songs with them for years. This is only the beginning. The light will keep spreading globally. I’ll see you soon in your city.”

With 75,000+ people already attending across seven cities, The Roshni Tour continues to expand Ali Zafar’s international footprint and demonstrate the growing reach of Pakistani music across North America.

Additional international dates are expected to be announced.

“Roshni” is available now on all major streaming platforms.
