Punjab has issued more than 832,000 Kissan Cards to farmers across the province, providing direct financial assistance and easier access to agricultural support programs. Officials noted that the scheme has achieved an impressive recovery rate of 86 percent, reflecting strong repayment discipline and responsible utilization of funds by beneficiaries. The program is designed to reduce farmers’ dependence on middlemen and informal lenders, allowing them to access financing directly and on more favorable terms.
