Pakistan and Tajikistan have agreed on a new three-year plan aimed at increasing bilateral trade to $200 million. The agreement was reached during the 8th Joint Commission meeting held in Dushanbe, where officials from both countries discussed ways to strengthen economic cooperation and expand business opportunities.
The roadmap covers several important sectors, including energy, agriculture, information technology, healthcare, education, tourism, and investment. Both sides expressed their commitment to improving cooperation and creating new opportunities for businesses and investors.
To achieve the trade target, Pakistan and Tajikistan agreed to organize business forums, exchange trade delegations, and improve market access for products and services. Officials believe these efforts will encourage stronger commercial ties and increase trade volumes between the two countries.
During the meeting, both sides also reviewed progress on the CASA-1000 project, a major regional energy initiative designed to enhance electricity connectivity between Central and South Asia. The project is expected to play an important role in improving regional cooperation and energy security.
In addition, discussions were held on exploring new opportunities in sectors such as oil and gas, pharmaceuticals, and digital skills development. Officials highlighted the importance of sharing expertise and encouraging joint ventures to support economic growth.
The agreement reflects the growing partnership between Pakistan and Tajikistan and their shared goal of strengthening regional connectivity. By expanding cooperation in multiple sectors, both countries aim to create new economic opportunities and improve trade relations.
