Flour prices have recorded another increase across various cities of Pakistan, adding to the financial burden on households already dealing with rising living costs. According to the latest figures released by the Bureau of Statistics, Karachi remains the most expensive city for purchasing flour, with the price of a 20-kilogram bag reaching as high as Rs. 2,800.
The report shows that flour prices have also climbed significantly in other major urban centers. In Peshawar, a 20-kg flour bag is being sold for around Rs. 2,750, while consumers in Islamabad are paying approximately Rs. 2,733. In neighboring Rawalpindi, the same quantity is available for about Rs. 2,707, reflecting a continued upward trend in essential food commodity prices.
Comparatively, flour remains somewhat cheaper in parts of Punjab. Residents of Lahore are purchasing a 20-kg bag for around Rs. 2,250, while prices in Sargodha and Sialkot stand at approximately Rs. 2,200. Despite these lower rates, the overall increase in flour prices nationwide has raised concerns among consumers, as flour remains one of the most important staple food items for millions of families across the country.
