87% of Pakistan’s Alibaba Transactions Originate from Sialkot: IT Minister

Sialkot is rapidly establishing itself as one of Pakistan’s leading e-commerce and digital trade hubs, driven by its strong industrial foundation and export-oriented economy. According to recent reports, the city accounts for nearly 87 percent of Pakistan’s transactions on Alibaba, with a significant share coming from wholesale businesses that market locally manufactured products to international buyers. This remarkable contribution highlights Sialkot’s growing influence in global digital commerce and its ability to leverage online platforms to expand export opportunities.

To further accelerate innovation and entrepreneurship in the region, Ignite has partnered with a consortium led by Mobilink Bank to launch the National Incubation Centre (NIC) Sialkot. The initiative aims to support startups and emerging businesses across a wide range of sectors, including e-commerce, manufacturing, sports technology, healthcare, and other digital industries. By providing mentorship, resources, and access to industry networks, the centre is expected to encourage technology adoption, foster scalable ventures, create employment opportunities, and enhance Pakistan’s competitiveness in international markets while strengthening the country’s digital economy
