PCB Reports Record Rs 7.54 Billion Profit in PSL 2026 After Expansion to 8 Teams

The Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2026 has achieved major financial success. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) informed a Senate Standing Committee that the league earned a record pre-tax profit of Rs 7.54 billion. This is more than three times higher than the previous season’s profit of around Rs 2 billion.

Total revenue crossed Rs 10.19 billion, while expenses were about Rs 2.64 billion. The big boost came after expanding the league from six to eight teams. The two new franchises were sold for Rs 1.75 billion and Rs 1.85 billion, bringing strong extra income.

Sponsorships, broadcasting rights, ticket sales, and merchandise also contributed to the growth. The PCB’s own share from the central revenue pool reached over Rs 1.29 billion. Officials described the expansion as a “masterstroke” that strengthened the league’s commercial value.

The PCB is using part of this success for cricket development. Plans include stadium renovations in Karachi and building a new cricket stadium in Islamabad. Growing franchise valuations show increasing investor confidence in Pakistan cricket.

This record profit is excellent news for Pakistani cricket. It will help improve player facilities, grassroots programs, and infrastructure. Fans can expect an even bigger and better PSL in the coming years.
