No Helmet, No Entry on these Major Lahore Roads

Lahore Traffic Police has started a strong citywide campaign against motorcyclists who ride without helmets. This action comes after a sharp increase in fatal road accidents in the city. Officials have made it clear: no helmet means no entry on several major roads.

Motorcyclists without helmets will be stopped and not allowed to use important routes such as Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road, Ferozepur Road, and Main Boulevard, Gulberg. Traffic police teams have set up checkpoints on these busy corridors where motorcycle traffic is very high.

This year alone, 96 motorcyclists have died in road accidents in Lahore. Out of 139 fatal crashes reported, head injuries were the main cause of death, especially among riders not wearing helmets. Authorities say most of these deaths could have been prevented with proper helmet use.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore has stressed that the campaign is not about collecting fines but about saving lives. The goal is to build safer riding habits among the city’s huge number of motorcyclists. Lahore has around 61 lakh registered motorcycles out of 82 lakh total vehicles.

Traffic police urged all riders to wear helmets every time they ride. This simple safety step can make a big difference between life and death. The department plans to continue strict checking to reduce preventable accidents on Lahore’s roads.
