Pakistan’s federal government has announced a 20% reduction in the regulatory duty on imported mobile phones under the Finance Act 2026–27, with the revised rates set to take effect from July 1. The decision is expected to bring noticeable relief for consumers planning to purchase premium imported smartphones.
According to the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), the reduction will primarily benefit high-end imported devices, with prices of some flagship smartphones likely to decrease by as much as Rs. 14,000. However, the existing tax and duty structure for most other categories of mobile phones will remain unchanged, meaning the impact will be largely limited to premium models.
