PM Shehbaz and Bilawal to Attend Ayatollah Khamenei’s Funeral

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will lead a high-level Pakistani delegation to Iran on July 3. PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will also join the visit to attend the funeral of Iran’s late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The trip comes at the invitation of Iranian leadership. Funeral ceremonies are planned from July 4 to 9 in cities like Tehran, Qom, and Mashhad. Large crowds of mourners from Iran and other countries are expected to attend the events.

During the stay in Iran, Bilawal Bhutto is expected to hold meetings with senior Iranian officials. This visit highlights the strong and friendly relations between Pakistan and Iran. Both countries share deep cultural, religious, and neighbourly ties.

After the engagements in Iran, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will travel to Turkiye. There, he will hold bilateral talks with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on important regional and economic matters.

Pakistan has expressed solidarity with Iran during this difficult time. The participation of top leaders shows respect for the late Supreme Leader and commitment to good bilateral relations.
