A heartbreaking tragedy struck in Lahore on Tuesday when the roof of a tuition academy in the Kahna area suddenly collapsed. The incident killed 14 children and left many others injured. Students were attending regular classes when the classroom roof caved in, trapping them under heavy debris.
Rescue teams from Punjab Emergency Services (Rescue 1122) reached the spot quickly. They worked hard to pull out the trapped children. All injured students were shifted to nearby hospitals for urgent treatment. Officials said 8 to 10 children are in critical condition. Doctors are doing their best to save their lives.
The academy was running inside a residential building. Preliminary reports suggest the roof was made using T.R. girders, which may not have been strong enough. Authorities have started a full investigation to find the exact cause. Questions are being raised about the safety of the building and whether proper permissions were given for the tuition centre.
This sad event has shocked the people of Lahore. Parents and locals are demanding strict action against those responsible for weak construction. Chief Minister Punjab and other leaders have expressed deep sorrow and promised justice.
