A big controversy has broken out at Dr. Faisal Masood Teaching Hospital in Sargodha, Punjab. Reports say a ward attendant named Waqas performed surgeries on patients instead of qualified doctors. CCTV footage has surfaced that appears to show Waqas operating in the theatre.
According to sources, surgeon Hafiz Riaz often stayed away from duty. He allegedly told Waqas to continue surgeries even when theatre staff raised objections. This shocking practice reportedly went on with the knowledge of hospital leaders, including the principal and medical superintendent, who took no action.
Patients and their families are very worried about safety. Many fear wrong treatment or serious harm. Families have asked Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to start a full inquiry and punish those responsible.
Hospital officials have denied the serious claims. They say Waqas is trained OT staff, not just a ward boy. Due to staff shortages, some workers do extra duties after special training. They called the reports misleading and said some people are targeting the hospital because of personal grudges.
No official action has been announced yet. This case has raised serious questions about patient safety, staff shortages, and hospital management in government facilities.
