Foreign ministers from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Türkiye, and Indonesia have issued a strong joint statement. They condemned recent actions by Israeli settlers and extremist groups at the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
The ministers stressed that there can be no compromise on the mosque’s historical, legal, and religious status. They warned that any unilateral changes or provocations could increase tensions and destabilize the region further. The statement highlighted ongoing settler incursions, raising of flags, and other acts under Israeli police protection as serious violations.
The group reaffirmed Jordan’s important role as the custodian of the mosque’s religious and administrative affairs. They called on Israel to respect this arrangement, ensure full freedom of worship for Muslims, and stop all restrictions on access to the holy site. The entire 144-dunum area of Al-Aqsa Mosque / Al-Haram Al-Sharif is a place of worship exclusively for Muslims.
The ministers urged the international community to help protect the sanctity of Al-Aqsa and prevent further escalation. They stressed the need to follow international law and relevant UN resolutions.
This united stand by eight influential nations shows strong support for Palestinian rights and the protection of Islamic holy sites.
