Captain (Retd) Sardar Muhammad Shehryar Khan has taken charge as SSP Security and Administration in Islamabad, while Shehzada Umar Abbas took charge as SSP Safe City Operations a day earlier, as part of recent changes in the capital’s senior police leadership.
According to the reports, after taking Charge, Muhammad Shehryar held a meeting with SSP Operations Qazi Ali Raza on August 27 to review key policing matters in the capital. Their discussion covered security arrangements, public safety, patrol deployment and ways to improve coordination between operational and security teams. The officers also considered measures to strengthen police presence in different areas and maintain a safer environment for residents.
The new appointments are expected to improve coordination between the Security, Operations and Safe City wings, with field policing and technology-based monitoring playing a role in strengthening security across Islamabad.
