The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has taken action against Bahria Town over alleged violations of approved layout plans in parts of Zone 5, Islamabad.
According to a CDA show cause notice, the authority approved the layout plan for Bahria Town Phase III-E and IV in December 2010. The plan covered around 2,999 kanals in Mouza Kotha Kalan and Mouza Humak and included 2,730 residential plots. However, CDA said Bahria Town had not completed the requirements needed to obtain the scheme’s No Objection Certificate (NOC), despite the passage of about 15 years.
The authority also alleged that development work and construction had been carried out before the NOC was issued. CDA further pointed to violations of the approved layout plan, including changes involving land meant for public amenities.
In a separate case involving Bahria Town Phases II, III, V and VI, CDA has raised concerns over the alleged conversion of areas reserved for parks, graveyards and public buildings.
CDA’s notices give Bahria Town an opportunity to respond to the allegations before further enforcement action is taken.
