Punjab Becomes Pakistan’s First Province to Launch AI Intelligence Hub

Punjab has become the first province in Pakistan to establish an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Hub aimed at improving security and intelligence operations.

The AI Hub was e launched on September 5,2026, Saturday along with the Provincial Intelligence Fusion and Threat Assessment Centre (PIFTAC). Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif said the new system would help authorities identify possible threats earlier and improve coordination between different security agencies.

The AI based system will support the government in monitoring emerging security challenges and sending digital alerts to district coordination committees. This will allow officials to identify potential problems and take action before they develop into major incidents.

The chief minister said PIFTAC would also help reduce response time in cases involving terrorism and other security threats. She stressed that preventing an incident before it happens should be the main goal of the new system.

Maryam Nawaz also praised the police, Special Branch and other law enforcement agencies for working together. She said the initiative would strengthen Punjab’s ability to use technology and intelligence for better public safety.
