Over 350 directors, business leaders, regulators and investors will gather in Karachi for the Pakistan Institute of Corporate Governance (PICG) Directors’ Summit 2026, taking place on September 10, 2026.
For over 21 years, PICG has been at the forefront of shaping Pakistan’s corporate governance landscape. As a catalyst for governance excellence, PICG strengthens boards and leadership through world-class development, advisory, research, and thought leadership.
Under the theme ‘The Showcase: Your Leadership, and Your Impact,’ the Summit will spotlight how effective governance strengthens institutions, fosters innovation and inclusion, enhances resilience, and drives sustainable growth.
The program opens with remarks by Muhammad Ashraf Bawany, Chairman PICG, followed by Shafaq Fauzil Azim, CEO PICG, who will present Pakistan’s current trends and evolving governance landscape. A special tribute will honour the late Dr. Shamshad Akhtar for her transformative contributions to Pakistan’s economic policy, institutional development, sustainable finance, and governance reform.
Key addresses will feature Muhammad Ali Tabba, Chairman, Yunus Brothers Group, Javed Kureishi, Farrukh Sabzwari, CEO, Pakistan Stock Exchange and Muhammad Azfar Ahsan, Former Minister for Investment offering insights on governance, global investment, capital-market growth, and Pakistan’s economic competitiveness..
Three panels will examine agile boards leading through uncertainty, family‑legacies using governance for generational success, and governance of innovation and technology.
A fireside chat featuring Narayanan Vaidyanathan, Global Head of Policy Development, ACCA, and Zulfikar Causer, Managing Partner, BDO Ebrahim & Co., will examine Technology and AI governance.
Keynote addresses will continue with Kabeer Naqvi, Entrepreneur in Residence to Abhi Microfinance Bank; Zaffar A. Khan, Chairman PCP; and Dr. Syed Amir Ali, CEO Meezan Bank Limited, speaking on leadership insights and governance of digital banking, NPO empowerment and the future of Islamic finance, respectively.
The Summit will culminate in a closing keynote by Hussain Dawood, Chairman, Engro, on building enduring institutions, followed by PICG Recognition Awards.
